Herringbone parquet in oak
Floor installation · 2026
Herringbone asks more of whoever lays it than any other pattern. Get the angle wrong on the first piece and the error walks its way through the entire room.
We set out a centre line in the room and lay outwards from it, so the pattern sits symmetrically against the walls you actually see. It takes longer at the start, and it is the reason it looks right when you come through the door.
The room got a border along the walls that frames the pattern and hides the movement the timber needs against the wall.
